On Thursday 28th September, Year 6 made our annual visit to Hanover Gardens to deliver some of the harvest parcels generously donated by the rest of the school. As well as delivering the parcels, we were also able to spend some time conversing with many of the ladies and gentlemen who live there. We chatted about school both past and present, shared some fun moments and even had an impromptu tambourine session! Both the children and residents enjoyed themselves and we received a lovely thank you card from one grateful gentleman who praised the behaviour and politeness of our students.
On Friday afternoon, Year 6 created a human chain to pass the remaining parcels to the cars of the gentlemen from the Lion’s Club who will deliver them to people in the local area who would benefit from a food parcel. In the end we were able to provide them with over 70 parcels which will be put to great use in the Tendring area.
