While some of Year 6 were away at Mersea, the rest of Year 6 were enjoying a series of fun and challenging activities of their own at school.
On Wednesday, the children created their own pizzas from scratch thinking about new and adventurous toppings – they even designed their own pizza boxes. They went on to play some fantastic team building games where they demonstrated their thinking and reasoning skills. Later on, they spent some fabulous time in the school forest. Not only did they develop their natural art skills they also enjoyed some lovely s’mores.
On day 2, the fun continued. This time they made and decorated their own cupcakes. After this cookery extravaganza they played quizzes and then had a brilliant game of diamond cricket.
On day 3, the cookery theme continued with the children making their own biscuits before playing benchball, dodgeball and even in-class table tennis! After this they completed a marshmallow/toothpick challenge. This was all finished off with an end of week quiz. The children all had a fantastic time and I look forward to hearing even more about their activities (and hopefully experiencing some of their newfound cookery skills).
