On Tuesday 13th February, Year 2 had a fantastic trip to Clacton Fire Station!
As we were coming to the end of our topic based on ‘The Great Fire of London’, it was a great opportunity for us to compare how the fire service had changed since 1666. During our visit, we were able to learn all about the equipment and clothing firefighters have to wear, the equipment that each engine contains and how they use each item. We also explored their training rooms and learnt how these are used by the firefighters when carrying out practice drills.
We even got to use the hoses and the thermal cameras!
