On Thursday 19th October, 2Armstrong had an amazing day to celebrate the end of our topic ‘To Infinity and Beyond!’.

During our History sessions, we discovered that during the Apollo 11 mission, Neil Armstrong and Buzz Aldrin were able to collect moon rock whilst on the moon.  Therefore, we decided to have a go at making our very own to take home.

To finish our Science unit, we discussed and explored how astronauts survive whilst on their way to and from the moon, but also whilst they are there. We were able to watch real-life footage of Tim Peake and we also used his book to answer any questions that we had.

To end our ‘Space Day’, we made our very own rockets! We used lots of junk materials such as old plastic bottles, cardboard and much more. We had so much fun doing this! Have a look below at some of us in action making our rockets and some that we made.
