In Bumblebees, Dragonflies

Bumblebees and Dragonflies were so excited to be going on a school trip. Last term, we went to our local Asda store in our school mini bus but, this time, we got to ride in a double decker coach!

To celebrate our topic ‘Our Planet’ we went to St Osyth Priory. It was a jam packed day filled with lots of amazing activities and we made some magnificent memories! When we arrived we had to recite a magic spell in order to reveal a secret door!

One of our activities was to go for a ride on a tractor trailer. Whilst driving along, we got to see some rare breed animals. We were lucky enough to see long horned cows, sheep, red deer and even the beautiful white deer. We used our binoculars to help us spot them!

We also got to spend some time in the fantastically muddy forest school and mud kitchen area! We climbed, we relaxed, we built, we jumped – we had so much fun here!

Whilst here we had an opportunity to play and explore the activities whilst also learning all about camouflage. We were challenged to find some wiggly worms. Some were well camouflaged and difficult to spot whilst others were brightly coloured and easy to spot.

Bumblebees and Dragonflies also got to participate in some craft activities set out by the Priory team. They were able to spend some time with their friends, freeflowing between the activities and letting their creativity shine!

We also got to explore the rose garden maze. Unfortunately, due to the time of year, the rose garden was not in bloom but we still had lots of fun! We got to explore the maze in order to find a dragonfly or a bumblebee.

We were also treated to a delicious hot chocolate before our lunch. It really warmed us up!

We hope you have heard lots of wonderful stories about our school trip!
