In Year 3, we had a surprise visit from Mr Walker who told us that he had seen something strange in the forest area and it looked like it related to our topic on Ancient Egypt.
We went straight out to the forest to discover a mummy in the bush! After some more investigating we also found bandages, canopic jars and a message written in pictures.
After returning to class, we discovered the writing was in fact hieroglyphics and it was telling us about the mummy who was an Egyptian God calld Imotep!
We then read the messages inside the canopic jars which told us about the body parts in contained and what their functions were.
We then wrote our names in hieroglyphics and we are now so excited to continue our learning!
