Year 6 really rose to the challenge this week as they undertook their end of KS2 SATs tests.
Starting on Monday with grammar and spelling, we moved onto the long reading paper on Tuesday. This was then followed on Wednesday and Thursday with the maths papers. The children coped admirably – they should be extremely proud of how hard they worked both during and in the run-up to the tests. The Year 6 team have been so impressed with their dedication to learning.
To round off this busy week, the children were rewarded with an end of SATs celebration – they voted to play a giant school-wide game of hide and seek followed with a couple of rounds of dodge ball. They finished this off with, the now traditional, custard pieing of their teachers. Hide and seek proved to be great fun with some children opting to wear full camouflage (and lots choosing very inventive hiding places). Dodgeball had a bit of a twist as it was played using giant yoga balls! Finally, they all got to ‘get their own back’ by smothering the teachers in shaving foam! They all had a brilliant time and this was a fantastic way to end their SATs week. Well done Year 6 – you’ve been sensational this week!
