Definitely not a washout!

Definitely not a washout!

After a fantastic night’s sleep (the camp was silent by 11.30pm and we didn’t hear from the children again until 6am), we woke to brilliant sunshine.  The children were looking forward to a new day but, more importantly, they were really excited about the pancakes for breakfast!

After they had their fill, we all set off for the first of four activities today.  Sadly, the rain closed in by about 11am BUT the children did not let this spoil their fun!  They rose to the challenge, donned their waterproofs and completed today’s tasks with determination and huge grins on their faces.

This evening’s entertainment (originally planned as a trip to the beach) had to change due to the weather so, instead, we undertook an impromptu quiz which included group challenges, a music round, a not-so-general knowledge round and cryptic clues about Holland Park staff (who knew our staff were such an interesting bunch?).

Despite the weather, the children have had a fabulous second day at Mersea Camp and are now looking forward to their final morning’s activities and to coming home to tell you all about what they have achieved.
